Carolina Shutter’s specialty-shaped shutter panels and Pattern
Horizontal^TM shutter panels from O’Hair feature an industry first in contour design allowing all louvers (including fractional top louvers) to operate in full rotation (same as rectangular panels). Enjoy the full range of light control and view that this remarkable design delivers; available in conventional center tilt (see image to the right) or the unique Horizon^TM tilt system (see image illustration in the True Contour section).

True Contour

Rails are contoured to the 1/16″ for tailoring that is “true-to-window.” Louvers, as well as rails, are milled using computer controlled machining for an accurate and repeatable fit.

Full Functionality

Every louver fully rotates (same as rectangular panels) and is controlled either by a tilt rod, or in the case of louvers above the tilt rod, by use of a rear linkage system (see above).

Real Joinery

The Pattern Horizontals^TM design preserves critical joinery details (standard to all shutter panels from O’Hair) for extraordinary strength. Contour rails are joined to stiles using mortise and tenon, wet-to-wet application of glue, and “draw-tight” assembly screws. Contour louvers pivot on monolithic tenons (formed from the louver profile itself).
